Ordering 247 Blinds: Samples, Measurements and the Full Cost

Buying made-to-measure blinds at 247 Blinds? Compare samples, check the fitting and measurements, and include delivery and optional measuring cover.

On this page

The cheapest blind is poor value if the colour clashes with the room or the finished size does not fit. With a made-to-measure order at 247 Blinds, a few checks before payment can matter more than a headline percentage saving. Start with the window, confirm the material and measuring method, then compare the complete quote.

This guide is for shoppers planning a made-to-measure purchase. It separates useful preparation from optional extras and explains which costs deserve a place in your budget. Retailer information was checked on 30 October 2026; confirm the current conditions before ordering.

Order samples before committing to a whole room

247 Blinds offers free, unlimited samples, selected through the product page. Its FAQ recommends samples because colour can vary between screens. Use that service to narrow a shortlist before paying for a finished blind, particularly when trying to match existing paint, flooring or upholstery.

Label each sample with its exact product name and colour. Hold it where the blind will sit, then look again with the room’s lights switched on. A sample that suits a bright kitchen may feel different in a shaded bedroom. Keep the final sample until the order arrives so you can identify what you selected.

A small swatch is useful for colour and texture, but it does not show the complete fitting or prove how dark the room will become. Read the product description for the fabric, lining and mechanism you need. Avoid upgrading every window simply because a more expensive finish looks attractive in isolation.

Choose the fitting before copying any measurements

Recess fitting and exact fitting are different order choices. 247 Blinds says it makes the relevant allowances when you supply recess measurements; exact fitting uses the finished size you request. Do not subtract an allowance yourself and then also select recess fitting.

Use the guide for the specific blind type. The retailer’s general instructions call for measurements at several points, but roller and Twist&Fit widths use the top measurement rather than automatically using the narrowest one. Bay windows and specialised frame-mounted products have their own guidance. A rule that worked for another window may therefore be unsuitable.

Create a separate record for each window: room, blind type, width, drop, units and fitting choice. Photograph the window and note handles, tiles or other obstructions. Ask the retailer to clarify an unusual opening before ordering. Do not assume two neighbouring windows are identical.

For a roller blind, remember that the quoted overall width includes its mechanism; fabric is narrower. If coverage is important, check the product’s complete dimensions rather than judging only the material width.

Compare a delivered quote for your exact specification

An advertised starting price is not your window’s price. Enter the actual size and select the intended fabric, fitting and controls before comparing options. Keep a simple list with one row per window, so an extra charge on a single blind does not disappear inside a whole-house total.

When checked, 247 Blinds listed standard delivery at £9.95 for orders under £179 and free delivery on orders over £179. Its delivery page describes the standard charge as applying to the order, rather than each blind. Check the final basket for your address and chosen service.

Combining purchases you already need can reduce repeated delivery charges. Adding an unwanted blind to reach a threshold is different: compare the additional product cost with the postage saved. Also budget for suitable installation fixings or help if required. The retailer’s FAQ says brackets are supplied, but screws and wall plugs are not.

Once the specification is settled, check for a suitable 247 Blinds discount code. Read exclusions and minimum-spend conditions, then compare the final payable amount. Do not assume an offer will combine with another promotion or remain available when you order.

Understand what measuring protection actually covers

247 Blinds advertises optional MeaSUREguard at 10% of the order value. Treat it as a separate decision and include its cost in the quote. It is intended for measuring errors, so it is not a substitute for choosing the right colour or fabric.

The published terms require notification within 14 days of receiving an incorrectly measured order. The unused original must be returned at your expense; the replacement keeps the same type, colour, fabric and options, with only its size changed. A higher replacement price can leave a difference to pay, and the protection can be used once against the original order. Read the current eligibility and full procedure before selecting it.

Make a fair comparison with Blindsbypost

Blindsbypost is a relevant second quote because it also sells made-to-measure roller, wooden and Roman blinds. Compare the same practical specification: dimensions, material, lining, mounting method and controls. Similar colour names do not establish that two fabrics are identical.

Check whether a Blindsbypost discount code applies to the comparable order, then include delivery and any optional measuring cover. Use each retailer’s own measuring instructions when preparing its quote. A small difference in price is less useful if the cheaper option lacks the lining or fitting your window needs.

Do the final check before paying

247 Blinds does not offer ordinary change-of-mind returns on bespoke blinds; faulty or damaged products have a separate customer-service process. Its FAQ also warns that amendments cannot always be made once production starts.

Read the basket back against your window records before payment. Check every width and drop, units, fabric name, fitting choice and delivery estimate. Give yourself time to resolve a doubtful measurement. Getting the order right is a saving that survives after the promotion has ended.
