Buying Bedding at Bedeck Home: What Does a Duvet Cover Set Actually Include?

Compare Bedeck duvet cover sets by size, pillowcases, fabric and delivery. Build a complete bedding basket and check the return conditions before washing.

A bedding photograph can show a duvet cover, four pillows, a fitted sheet, cushions and a throw, while the price buys only part of that arrangement. When shopping at Bedeck Home, start with the pieces your bed actually needs. A lower headline price is useful only if the size, contents and fabric work for you.

This guide explains how to compare a duvet cover set with separate pieces, check the measurements and calculate the cost of a usable bedding change. Product details and delivery information were checked on 1 November 2026; confirm your selected size and basket before ordering.

Count the pieces included in your chosen set

Read the description for the exact collection and size. For example, Bedeck’s 400 Thread Count Sateen Plain Dye Duvet Cover Set specifies one pillowcase with the single size and a pair with double, king and super king sizes. Its range also lists sheets and additional pillowcase pairs separately. That is a useful example, rather than a promise about every collection.

Write down how many sleeping pillows you use. A couple using four pillows may need an additional pair of cases even when the duvet cover is sold as a set. Equally, matching pillowcases you already own can make a cover-only purchase perfectly sensible. Decorative cushions and a throw belong in the budget only if you want them.

A product image is a styling reference. The written contents list should decide what you expect in the parcel. If the listing and description disagree, ask the retailer before paying.

Match the cover to the duvet, then measure the mattress

The duvet inside the cover and the mattress underneath it need different measurements. You might use a larger duvet on a smaller bed, so the bed’s label alone cannot choose both the cover and the fitted sheet.

Bedeck’s published guide gives these duvet-cover measurements:

SizeDuvet cover
Single140 × 200 cm
Double200 × 200 cm
King230 × 220 cm
Super king260 × 220 cm

Check the label on your existing duvet against the individual product specification. For a fitted sheet, measure the mattress length, width and depth, including any topper you leave in place. Bedeck’s guide notes that fitted-sheet depths vary by brand; buying the right bed size does not automatically solve the depth question.

Check pillow dimensions separately too. A decorative border does not necessarily mean a larger space for the pillow inside. Keep a short measurement note on your phone so you can compare different collections without starting again.

Choose the fabric you want to wash and sleep in

Thread count should help describe a fabric, rather than decide the purchase on its own. Bedeck’s bedlinen guide explains that different fabrics need different counts and that the number is not a stand-alone quality rating. Its examples distinguish cotton and polyester blends, brushed cotton and sateen weaves.

Start with bedding you already enjoy: note the fibre composition and whether you prefer a crisp, smooth or brushed surface. Then check the new item’s care label, washing instructions and permitted drying method. Paying more for a finish you dislike, or for bedding that does not fit your laundry routine, does little for value.

When comparing two products, keep the size and required pieces constant. A price difference may reflect a different fabric, finish or included pillowcases, rather than a better discount.

Compare the cost of one complete bedding change

Use the same shopping list for each option: a cover, enough pillowcases and a sheet only if you need one. The following figures are invented to demonstrate the calculation; they are not Bedeck prices or offers.

Illustrative basketPieces needed for four pillowsGoods total
Cover sold separately£38 cover + two £12 pillowcase pairs£62
Set with two pillowcases£48 set + one £12 pillowcase pair£60

The cheaper cover produces the more expensive complete basket. Add the actual delivery charge to both totals, then apply only an offer your products qualify for. Check the Bedeck Home discount code page for offers to investigate, and read their minimum spend, brand and sale exclusions before relying on a saving.

Bedeck’s delivery page currently lists standard UK delivery at £4.95 below £125 and free delivery from £125, with different charges for the Isle of Man and Channel Islands. Standard delivery is listed as three to five working days, with additional island time. Confirm the charge and estimate for your address at checkout.

Adding an unwanted £20 item to remove a £4.95 delivery charge increases your spending. Combine purchases only when those extra pieces were already on your list.

Compare an alternative with the same contents

Bedfolk is a relevant comparison when you want plain cotton bedding: its cotton collection offers duvet covers, pillowcase pairs, sheets and bedding bundles. Use the Bedfolk discount code page when checking a comparable basket. Match the dimensions, fabric preference and number of pieces, then compare delivered totals. A bundle containing an unnecessary sheet is not automatically better value than the pieces you need at Bedeck.

Inspect before the first wash

Bedeck’s online returns policy requires eligible goods to be returned within 30 days of dispatch, unused and unwashed, in their original condition and packaging. It offers a free Royal Mail return route for the UK and Northern Ireland. It also states that online purchases cannot be returned through its shops and that it does not offer exchanges.

Check the size, colour and contents promptly while keeping the packaging. The retailer lists separate hygiene restrictions for filled duvets, pillows and mattress toppers, so do not assume those follow the same change-of-mind arrangements as bedlinen. Resolve any uncertainty before laundering: the best saving is bedding that fits your existing bed and gets used.
