Which Cat Litter Pack at zooplus Costs Less per Week?
Compare zooplus cat litter by pack size, weekly use and delivered cost, then check whether local collection makes a smaller bag better value.
On this page
A 20-litre bag of cat litter can be the cheapest on the shelf per litre and still cost more to use each week. At zooplus there are two separate decisions to make. If you already know which litter suits your cat, compare bag sizes and delivery charges. If you are choosing between two types, the missing number is how long a bag lasts in your own trays.

Compare the numbers on the bag
Start with two sizes of the same litter. zooplus lists Catsan Hygiene Plus non-clumping litter in single bags and multipacks. A pair of 10-litre bags gives you the same volume as one 20-litre bag. Divide the final price of each option by 20 to see what you pay per litre. Two smaller bags may be easier to carry upstairs or tuck into a cupboard. One larger bag may suit you if it fits where you keep the tray.
Litres describe volume and kilograms describe weight. Cat’s Best Original, a clumping wood-fibre litter, is a helpful example because zooplus gives both figures. Its 10-litre bag weighs approximately 4.3kg. That figure applies to this product. If a different litter is sold only by weight, use its own stated volume if available. Otherwise, compare the bags by weeks of use once you have a record for each.
Measure what your household uses
Clumping and non-clumping litters leave the bag at different times. With Cat’s Best Original, removing clumps takes some litter out of the tray, so include the fresh litter you add to restore the fill level. With Catsan Hygiene Plus, the instructions call for removing solid waste and replacing the litter completely at intervals. Include the full tray changes in your figures and follow the directions on the pack.
If you have an established routine, write the opening date on the bag and record when you finish it. Count all the trays it supplies. Start and finish with roughly the same amount of litter in those trays. A trial that starts by filling an empty tray uses more of the bag up front than one that starts with a full tray. Keep that first fill separate if you are estimating ongoing costs.

For a bag used over several weeks, divide its delivered price by the number of weeks it lasted. Suppose one purchase costs £14 delivered and lasts four weeks. That works out at £3.50 a week. Another costs £18 delivered and lasts six weeks, or £3 a week. These are example figures. With the first option at £3.50 a week, the £18 bag needs to last a little over five weeks to pay for itself. Your next refill date will tell you whether it did.
Check delivery before buying a bigger pack
zooplus sets a £10 minimum order before delivery charges and lists free standard delivery from £39 for most UK postcodes. The service, destination and parcel weight can affect the charge. Check the basket for your postcode. The UK site’s delivery page also says it does not currently serve Northern Ireland, so check the regional ordering route if that applies to you.
Weight can change how you collect an order. The zooplus EVRi ParcelShop option has a 17kg parcel limit. The 40-litre Cat’s Best Original pack weighs approximately 17.2kg on its own, which already puts it over the limit. If you rely on a parcel shop, compare eligible smaller packs with home delivery before ordering.
Check a zooplus discount code against the litter and purchase option in your basket. For a one-off order, compare one-time prices throughout. If other pet supplies are already due, compare the basket with and without the litter to see how much adding it actually costs. Buying an extra bag solely for free postage makes sense only if you can use and store it.
When is local collection better value?
Pets at Home lists Catsan Hygiene non-clumping litter in both 10-litre and 20-litre bags. Select the same size and check stock at the branch you would actually visit. A collection on the way home may add little to your costs. A special journey with parking charges could wipe out a small saving. Check any Pets at Home discount code against the collection basket and wait for confirmation before setting off.
If your cat already uses the litter and the weekly figures favour the bigger pack, choose the cheapest way to get that quantity home. For an unfamiliar litter, a manageable first bag gives you a refill date to base the next order on.
