About Denby

Denby has been making stoneware in Derbyshire since 1809 and still produces there. The pottery is known for heavy, glazed tableware in muted colours that is meant to be used daily rather than kept for occasions.
The pieces are made to go in the dishwasher, the microwave, the freezer and, for much of the range, the oven. That durability is the whole proposition and it is why the pricing sits above supermarket tableware.

What they make

Dinnerware is the core: plates, bowls, mugs and serving pieces in named ranges such as Halo, Studio and the long-running blue and grey glazes. Ranges are sold both as sets and as open stock, so a set can be extended piece by piece.
Alongside the tableware there is cookware and oven-to-table stoneware, glassware, cutlery and textiles chosen to sit with the glazes.

Buying a set that lasts

Buy into a range that is current if you expect to add to it. Denby keeps its main glazes in production for years, but retired ranges become a matching exercise on the second-hand market, and glaze colours shift slightly between production runs even within a range.
Sets are priced below the same pieces bought singly, sometimes by a wide margin, so the cheapest way to a full table is usually a set plus a couple of open-stock extras rather than piece-by-piece buying.
Stoneware is heavy. It survives daily use well but chips on a hard sink edge like anything else, and the weight is worth considering for anyone who finds a full stack of plates awkward.

Using a Denby discount code

Enter the code at the checkout stage and confirm the total has changed before the order goes through. These appear as Denby discount codes, voucher codes and promo codes.
Potteries discount by range rather than across the board, and a sitewide offer will often exclude new ranges, seconds and outlet stock, which are already reduced. Larger sets are sometimes excluded from a further percentage for the same reason.
