Flight Network is a long-established online travel agency, Canadian in origin, now selling flights, hotels and car hire through regional storefronts in North America, Europe and Australia.
What it sells and how it differs from an airline
Flights are the core of the business, with returns, one-ways and multi-city itineraries built from a wide pool of carriers, and stays and rental cars offered alongside. The important distinction is that the booking is made with the agency rather than with the airline, so the ticket is issued through them and changes, refunds and rebookings go through their support rather than the airline's desk. That is normal for an agency, but it does change who you call when something goes wrong.
The add-ons at checkout
Several optional services appear before payment, and it is worth knowing what each does rather than clicking past them. A flexible ticket buys the right to change dates within stated limits. A cancellation guarantee refunds the fare in listed circumstances that the airline's own rules would not cover. Neither is insurance, and both cost money on top of the fare, so compare the total with the same flight bought elsewhere before assuming the headline price is the cheaper deal.
Entering a discount code
There is no basket in the retail sense: the code goes in on the final booking page, after passenger details and before payment, and the price shown against the card should change before you confirm. Do check it, because a travel booking is far harder to unwind than a parcel. Codes here are usually written as a small reduction on the flight component only, and they will not touch taxes and carrier charges, which on a long-haul fare are most of the money.
Practical points before booking
Names on the ticket must match the passport exactly, and correcting one afterwards is charged as a change or is not possible at all. Where an itinerary joins two airlines with no agreement between them, you collect the baggage and check in again yourself, and a delay on the first leg is not the second airline's problem. The app carries fares the website sometimes does not, and prices on popular routes move daily, so a fare watched for a week tells you more than a single visit does.
