About GB Posters

GB Posters is a Sheffield-based licensed poster and merchandise retailer, selling officially licensed prints, mugs, calendars and gifts tied to films, games, music and television. A GB Posters discount code goes further here than on most walls, because the whole catalogue is built around inexpensive items, and the useful question is less about price than about which format actually suits the wall you have.

Poster sizes and what fits a standard frame

A maxi poster is the size most off-the-shelf frames are cut for, and a mini poster is roughly half of it. Art prints and giclée prints are usually a different ratio again, so check the dimensions against the frame you already own rather than buying both and hoping. A poster shipped rolled will want a day or two flat under a weight before it sits properly in a frame.

Official licensing is what you are paying for

A licensed print is produced with the rights holder's permission, which is why the artwork is the studio's own rather than a redrawn approximation. It also means edition details, logos and typography are correct, which matters if you are framing something to keep. Unlicensed copies exist and usually give themselves away on colour and detail.

Print type changes the look

Standard posters are printed on light paper with a satin finish and are meant to be framed or pinned. Canvas prints are stretched and hang without a frame but flatten out fine detail. Framed prints arrive ready to hang and cost more in delivery because glass or acrylic has to be protected. Pick the format for the room, not for the thumbnail.

Sunlight is the enemy

Any print fades in direct sunlight, and colour inks go first, which is why an old poster reads blue. If a wall gets strong afternoon sun, glass with a UV filter is worth more than a more expensive print behind ordinary glass.

Using a GB Posters discount code

Enter the code in the basket and check the total before you pay. Codes usually carry a minimum spend, exclude items already reduced and clearance lines, and rarely apply to delivery. Because individual items are cheap, combining an order to clear the free delivery threshold normally saves more than the code itself.
