About Moonpig
Moonpig makes personalised greeting cards and posts them for you. You choose a design, add your own photographs and message, and it goes directly to the recipient rather than to you, which is the whole point and the reason people use it for birthdays they remembered late.
The business has been running since 2000 and has grown well beyond cards. Flowers, plants, chocolates, alcohol, balloons, mugs and a wide personalised gift range now sit alongside them and can be sent with the card as one order.
The reminder service, which is the useful bit
You can store birthdays and anniversaries in your account and be prompted before each one. For anyone who habitually buys cards two days late, that is worth more than any code, and it costs nothing.
The app earns its place for the same reason: most late card orders are placed on a phone.
Timing an order properly
Cards have a send-by cut-off for each delivery speed, shown at checkout, and it is the deadline that matters rather than the date you ordered. Gifts frequently have different cut-offs from cards, so an order containing both may split.
Read the delivery option carefully when the card has to arrive on a particular day. Standard post is not guaranteed for a date, and a faster option is the only way to be certain.
