A gazebo is a building, not a piece of furniture. It needs a level, solid base — a concrete pad, a laid patio or a deck rated for the load — because a frame anchored into soft ground moves. It must be anchored, and the correct anchors depend on what it stands on; this is the commonest reason a structure fails in a storm. In the UK wind matters more than snow: check the stated wind rating against how exposed your garden is, and take curtains and netting down before a named storm. Larger permanent structures can also engage planning rules, particularly near a boundary or on a listed property — worth five minutes with your council's guidance.

Assembly, honestly

These arrive flat-packed in several heavy boxes and are a two- or three-person job over a full day, sometimes two for the larger gazebos. Read the manual first, lay out and count the parts, and do not tighten anything fully until the frame is square. Working at height on a roof panel is where people get hurt, so use a proper platform. If that does not appeal, price local assembly before ordering; it is usually less than the cost of getting it wrong.

Delivery, replacement parts and using your code

Freight arrives kerbside on a pallet — check every box for damage before signing and count them, because a missing carton found in week three is a difficult conversation. Keep the model number: canopies, netting and fixings are sold as spares, and that is what keeps a structure going.
