About Waterford

Waterford is an Irish crystal house whose name has been attached to cut glass since the eighteenth century. It sits alongside Wedgwood and Royal Doulton within the same group, which is worth knowing because the brands run separate promotions.

The output today spans traditional deep-cut patterns and contemporary designer collections, and a large share of it is bought as a marker of something: a wedding, an anniversary, a retirement.

What they make

Stemware and barware are the core: wine glasses, tumblers, decanters and the whiskey range that carries much of the brand's modern reputation.

Around them sit vases and bowls, Christmas ornaments issued annually, giftware and awards, and lighting. Sports and occasion trophies are a genuine part of the business rather than a curiosity.

Judging crystal

Two things separate crystal from ordinary glass. The composition gives it weight and refraction, so a piece feels heavier than its size suggests and throws light differently. And the cutting is done into the blank afterwards, which is why the depth and precision of the cut is what you are paying for.

Practical notes that matter for a gift. Hand wash rather than dishwash: heat and detergent dull the surface over time, and no amount of polishing brings it back. Check whether a piece is hand-cut or machine-cut, since the price difference between them is substantial and the visual difference is not always obvious in a photograph.

Using a Waterford discount code

Pick the crystal, apply the code at the checkout and confirm the total before ordering. These are listed as Waterford discount codes, voucher codes and promo codes.

The house runs a free membership scheme with its own pricing and early access to collections, and a member rate and a public code are normally alternatives rather than a stack. Limited editions and annual ornaments are the least likely items to be discounted, while discontinued patterns carry the deepest reductions. Engraving is charged separately and usually sits outside a code.
