About WebHosting UK Com Ltd.

Webhosting UK, usually shortened to WHUK, is a Leeds-based hosting company running its servers on British soil, which is the reason most of its customers choose it over a cheaper offshore provider.

What is on offer

The ladder starts with shared hosting on cPanel, suitable for a brochure site or a small shop, and climbs through managed WordPress hosting with its own toolkit and caching layer, then managed virtual private servers, and finally dedicated machines on Xeon processors. Domain registration, business email, SSL certificates and reseller accounts sit alongside. Uptime is backed by a service level agreement, support is staffed around the clock by telephone and chat, and migration from another host is done for you rather than left to you.

Reading a hosting price properly

Two things trip people up. Prices are quoted excluding VAT, so the figure on the plan page is not the figure on the invoice for a private individual. And the headline monthly rate almost always assumes a long commitment paid up front, with the renewal at a higher rate once that term ends. Work out the full cost across the first two years, not the first month, and check what the renewal price will be before you commit. That single check saves more than any code.

Where the discount code goes

Choose the plan and the billing term, then enter the code in the promotional field on the order page before payment and confirm the total updates. Codes here are usually written against one product family, so one for dedicated servers will not work on shared hosting without having expired. New-customer offers are the deepest, and they normally apply to a first term only, which is another reason to look at the renewal figure while the discount is being applied rather than a year later.

Servers in the UK, and why it matters

Hosting inside the country shortens the round trip for British visitors, which shows up in page speed, and it keeps the data under UK jurisdiction, which matters for anyone handling customer records. Backups and snapshots are included on the managed plans, though it is worth knowing how far back they reach and testing a restore before you need one. Support that answers at three in the morning is the other thing being paid for, and it is worth more than a few pounds a month when a site is down.
