Beauty Expert Discount Code UK

Beauty Expert stocks the skincare brands that sit above the chemist shelf, and the Beauty Expert discount code listed above applies to the UK store.

About Beauty Expert

A British online beauty retailer, part of a large e-commerce group, selling premium skincare, haircare and cosmetics. It is a stockist rather than a brand, and its range is weighted towards clinical and dermatologist-associated names rather than colour cosmetics.

Buying from an authorised stockist matters more in skincare than in most categories, because counterfeit and grey-market product is a genuine problem with expensive serums.

What they sell

Facial skincare from cleansers to serums and moisturisers, sun protection, body care, haircare, tools and devices, and gift sets.

Serums and treatments are the strength. This is where the money in skincare goes, and where the ingredient list actually changes what the product does.

Reading an ingredient list

Ingredients are listed in descending order of quantity down to one percent, after which the order means nothing. An active named near the end of a long list is present, but not necessarily at a level that does anything.

Concentration matters and is often omitted. A brand confident in its formula usually states the figure for its active ingredients; one that does not may still be good, but you cannot compare it.

Fragrance sits under a single word and is among the commonest causes of irritation. On sensitive skin, it is the first thing to eliminate.

Introducing a new product sensibly

Add one product at a time and give it several weeks. Skin turns over slowly, and changing three things at once means you will never know which one helped or which one caused the reaction.

Patch test on the inner arm or behind the ear first, particularly with acids and retinoids. Use sun protection daily if you use either, because both increase sensitivity to sunlight.

Skincare is cosmetics, not medicine. Persistent acne, rosacea, eczema or any changing mole is a matter for a GP or dermatologist rather than a serum.

Using a Beauty Expert discount code

Enter the code at checkout and check which brands are excluded, since premium skincare houses commonly forbid discounting of their lines. Gift sets are usually already priced below the sum of their parts.
