About Toby Tiger

Toby Tiger is a British children's clothing brand founded in 1998 by the designer Zoe Mellor, still founder-controlled, with a shop on Gardner Street in Brighton and a wholesale arm supplying independents, and a Toby Tiger discount code is spent on organic cotton childrenswear with the appliqué and print the brand is known for. Two things matter more than the discount: the sizing, and how to stop the prints cracking.

The organic claim is certified and checkable

The brand holds a Global Organic Textile Standard licence with a number you can look up. That matters because the standard covers the whole processing chain, dyes and chemical inputs as well as the fibre, plus social criteria. It is a stronger claim than a garment described as made with organic cotton, which says nothing about what happened after the cotton was picked. Not every item in a range is certified, so check the product.

Size by height, not by age

Children's clothing is labelled by an age band with a height range in centimetres, and the height is the reliable figure. A tall two-year-old belongs in the band matching their height rather than their birthday, and ordering by age alone is the commonest reason a parcel goes back. The smallest baby sizes also split by weight.

Prints and appliqué need a cool wash, inside out

The decoration is the first thing to fail on children's clothes, and heat is what kills it. Wash inside out at a low temperature, skip the tumble dryer, and iron around a motif rather than over it. That turns a garment lasting one child into one lasting three, which matters more than any code on clothes made to be handed down.

Organic cotton shrinks more on the first wash

Untreated cotton has not been through the finishing that stops conventional cotton moving, so expect a little more shrinkage the first time, mostly in length. Wash cool and dry flat rather than hot, and keep bright dyes with like colours for the first few washes. That is the fibre behaving normally, not a fault.

Using a Toby Tiger discount code

Enter the code in the basket and confirm the total. Because the brand supplies independent retailers as well as selling direct, the same garment turns up in other shops, so a lower price elsewhere is not necessarily a Toby Tiger promotion. Sale lines and gift vouchers are the usual exclusions.
