About TORRAS

TORRAS is an accessory brand best known for the Ostand cases, which build a rotating kickstand into the back of the case rather than asking you to carry a separate one.

A stand you do not have to remember

The Ostand line puts a circular stand into the magnetic ring on the back. It folds flat enough not to spoil the shape of the phone, rotates so the handset can be propped in portrait or landscape, and doubles as a finger grip. For anyone who watches video on a train, follows a recipe in the kitchen or takes calls hands-free at a desk, that is the difference between a feature you use daily and an accessory left in a drawer. The trade-off is thickness and a slight extra weight, which is a fair exchange for most people.

Drop protection, and the parts that take the hit

The cases use air-chamber corners and a raised lip around the screen and camera, which is the arrangement that works, because a phone almost never lands flat. Heat is the other concern the range addresses, with materials intended to move warmth out of the case during charging and gaming — worth knowing, because a hot battery ages faster than a cool one. Matte finishes resist fingerprints better than gloss; clear cases of any brand eventually yellow under sunlight, which is chemistry rather than a defect.

Screen protectors and picking the right finish

The protector range includes anti-reflective and privacy finishes alongside standard clear glass. Anti-glare helps outdoors at the cost of a slightly softer image, and privacy film darkens the screen noticeably head-on as well as from the side. If your phone has an under-display fingerprint reader, check the protector is listed as compatible with it, because thick or textured glass can make the sensor unreliable. Buy a two-pack: the first fitting is the one that goes wrong.

Power banks, and taking one on a plane

The charging range covers wall chargers, magnetic wireless pads and pocket power banks. Two practical points. Magnetic wireless charging is convenient and slower and warmer than a cable, so use the cable when you need speed. And lithium power banks must travel in hand luggage, never in the hold, with the capacity marking visible — airlines enforce a limit and confiscate anything they cannot read.
