ANTA is a sportswear brand built around basketball and running, with signature shoe lines tied to serving professional players and a full range of training apparel behind them.
Basketball is where the brand puts its effort
The signature lines are the flagship, developed with the players who wear them and updated each season the way the rest of the industry does it. Around them sit running shoes split by purpose — racing, tempo and training, everyday miles, and trail — and a lifestyle side for the shoes people wear off the court. Apparel covers tees, hoodies, shorts, track pants and jackets, with socks, caps, bags and basketballs filling in. Endorsement names attached to the brand include Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson and the distance runner Kenenisa Bekele.
Picking a running shoe by what you actually run
Racing shoes with a stiff plate and aggressive foam are built for a handful of fast efforts, not for daily use, and running every session in them wears them out quickly and gives your legs no variety. Most people need a cushioned everyday trainer first and can add something faster later. Trail shoes add grip and protection at the cost of comfort on tarmac. Rotating two pairs, if you run often, lasts longer than running one pair into the ground.
Sizing, and why you should not assume
Shoe sizing is not consistent between manufacturers, and it is particularly inconsistent between brands that develop lasts in different markets. Read the size chart in centimetres, measure your foot in the evening when it is at its largest, and allow a thumb's width in front of the longest toe, which is not always the big toe. Basketball shoes are cut tighter for lockdown and running shoes roomier for swelling over distance, so the same person may sit on different sizes across the two.
Cushioning claims and what to look at instead
Every brand markets its own foam and plate technology under its own name, and the names tell you very little on their own. What is worth reading is the stack height, the drop from heel to toe, and the weight, because those three numbers describe how a shoe will feel more honestly than any trademark. If you are moving from a high-drop shoe to a low one, do it gradually — calves and Achilles tendons need weeks to adapt, and the usual injury comes from switching all at once.
