About Chef Akila

Chef Akila discount codes and voucher codes are listed above. Here is what the kitchen makes, how frozen meal delivery works, and what a Chef Akila discount code covers.

About Chef Akila

Chef Akila is a British company making Indian ready meals, started by a doctor and his mother and built around slow-cooked curries prepared in small batches, frozen and posted to the door.
It sits between a supermarket ready meal and a takeaway. The recipes are domestic rather than restaurant-style, and the meals arrive frozen rather than chilled, which is what makes ordering by post practical at all.

What they make

Curries and Indian dishes across meat, fish and vegetarian, a vegan range, rice and sides, and mixed boxes that combine several dishes rather than requiring a single choice.
Meals are sold individually and in bundles, with the price per meal falling on the larger boxes, which is the ordinary way to buy them.

Ordering frozen food by post

Check the freezer space before the basket. A twelve-meal box takes a real amount of room, and there is nowhere to put it if it arrives on a full freezer day, which is the commonest practical problem with this kind of order.
Be in for the delivery or have somewhere cool for the box. Insulated packing holds for a day, not a weekend, and a box left in the sun is a wasted order rather than a delayed one.
Read the ingredient and allergen information on each dish rather than on the range. Indian cooking uses nuts, dairy and mustard routinely, and it varies dish by dish.
The company positions the food as lighter than a typical takeaway. Whether that suits you is a question for the nutrition panel on the individual dish, which gives the salt, fat and calorie figures per portion. Nothing here is dietary advice.

Using a Chef Akila discount code

Choose the dishes, apply the code at the checkout and check the total before ordering. These appear as Chef Akila discount codes, voucher codes and promo codes.
First-order offers apply to a new account. Larger boxes already carry a lower price per meal and often cannot take a further percentage, and frozen delivery is charged separately from the food a code applies to.
