Two quite different halves
The television side covers subscription-free viewing: the Aura and AuraEZ 4K recorders, which record from Freeview and now Freely, and the A1 streaming box for adding apps to a television that has none. Certified refurbished units appear alongside new ones, and there are spare remotes, adapters and accessories. The other half is EV charging, built around the MX7 wallbox in tethered and socketed versions, with cables and an installation service through a partner firm.
Recording without a subscription
The argument for a recorder like this is straightforward: you pay once, and there is no monthly fee to keep the recordings. Series link, pause and rewind of live television and a hard disk large enough for a season all work without an account. The trade-off is that catch-up and streaming apps are provided by the platform rather than by a pay-television package, so check that the specific apps you watch are supported on the model before buying — the app list is what people most often assume rather than verify.
Before you buy a home charger
Two things decide whether a wallbox suits you. First, tethered or socketed: a tethered unit has the cable permanently attached and is quicker day to day, a socketed one lets you use your own cable and suits households that change cars. Second, installation is not a DIY job — a home charger must be fitted by a qualified electrician, notified where required, and the survey may find that your consumer unit or supply needs work, which is a real cost that does not appear on the product page. Get the survey before assuming the headline price. Off-street parking is a practical requirement; running a cable across a pavement is not permitted.
