About Illy UK

illy is a Trieste coffee house that does something almost no other roaster of its size does: it sells one blend. Nine arabica origins are combined into a single recipe, offered in different roast levels rather than as different products.

That decision is the whole identity. Where other houses offer a range of blends for different tastes, illy asks you to like one thing very much, and the consistency of that one thing is what the company sells.

The range

The classic blend appears in medium, dark and lighter roasts, plus a decaffeinated version, across whole bean, ground and capsule formats.

The distinctive pressurised tins are part of the product rather than packaging: coffee is sealed under inert gas, which preserves it far longer than a paper bag. Machines, cups and the art collection tins complete the range, the last being collected as objects as much as used.

Getting the most from it

Because there is one blend, the variables that matter are roast level and grind. Choose the roast by how you drink it: the darker roast stands up to milk, the medium suits espresso taken alone, the lighter one suits filter.

Once a tin is opened the clock starts, and coffee stales through oxygen rather than time on the shelf. Buy a size you will finish in a few weeks rather than the largest tin available, and keep it sealed and cool rather than in the fridge, which introduces moisture.

Using an illy discount code

Add the coffee to the basket, enter the code at the checkout and check the total before paying. These appear as illy discount codes, voucher codes and promo codes.

Subscription pricing is the standing saving on something bought monthly, and it will not normally combine with a promotional code, so compare the two over a year rather than on one order. Machine and coffee bundles are priced as the offer. Limited edition art collection tins are collectors' items and are rarely included in any discount.
