About Lavazza UK

Lavazza has been roasting coffee in Turin since 1895 and is the name most associated with Italian coffee outside Italy. It remains family-controlled after four generations.

The company's historical contribution was blending: mixing beans from different origins to produce a consistent cup year after year, which is now standard practice and was not when Luigi Lavazza started doing it.

The formats

Whole beans for anyone grinding fresh, which is where the quality difference is most obvious and where the equipment requirement is highest.

Ground coffee for filter, moka pot and espresso, with grind size specified for the method rather than sold as one product. Capsules across the company's own systems and Nespresso-compatible formats. Machines and accessories complete the range.

Choosing between them

The honest hierarchy is that beans ground immediately before brewing taste best, ground coffee is a reasonable compromise, and capsules trade some quality for consistency and convenience.

Where people go wrong is buying the wrong grind. Espresso grind in a filter machine produces something bitter and slow; filter grind in a moka pot produces something weak. Read the pack rather than assuming. If you use capsules, check the system carefully, since Nespresso-compatible and the company's own systems are not interchangeable.

Using a Lavazza discount code

Choose the coffee, apply the code at the checkout and confirm the total before ordering. These are listed as Lavazza discount codes, voucher codes and promo codes.

Coffee is consumed and repurchased, so subscription pricing usually beats a one-off code over a year, and the two do not combine. Multipack and case pricing on capsules is where the cost per cup drops furthest. Machines are occasionally bundled with coffee at a set price that will not take a further percentage, and those bundles are usually the better route into a new system.
