The range is radios and speakers rather than hi-fi separates. DAB, DAB+ and internet radio

These are three different things and it matters. DAB is the older UK digital standard; DAB+ is the more efficient version that many stations have moved to, and a radio that supports only plain DAB will simply not receive them. Internet radio is different again — it arrives over your home wi-fi rather than through the air, needs a connection to work, and gives you stations from other countries and catch-up services that broadcast radio cannot. If reception where you live is poor, an internet radio solves a problem that no aerial will. FM is still included on most sets as a fallback.

Match the radio to where it will live. A kitchen radio wants splash resistance, simple physical buttons you can work with wet hands, and enough volume to beat an extractor fan. A bedside radio wants a dimmable display, because a bright screen at three in the morning is its own problem, and a gentle alarm. A portable wants real battery life and a rechargeable pack rather than a drawer full of AAs. Sound quality follows speaker size and cabinet more than anything on the specification sheet.
