About Sonic Direct
Sonic Direct sells kitchen appliances, cookers and electricals online, and a Sonic Direct discount code is spent on something that has to be installed as well as delivered. Cooking appliances are the part of this catalogue where the installation rules are not optional, and they are worth knowing before rather than after the delivery van leaves.
Gas work is not a DIY job
A gas cooker or hob must be connected by an engineer on the Gas Safe Register. That is a legal requirement, not a manufacturer preference, and doing it yourself invalidates insurance as well as being dangerous. Delivery does not include connection unless you have paid for it, so book the fitter for a day after the appliance arrives rather than the same morning. The same logic applies to disconnecting the old one.
Electric cookers and the supply they need
A freestanding electric cooker or a built-in oven with a hob usually needs its own circuit and a cooker switch rather than a thirteen amp plug. Check what is already on the wall: if the previous appliance was gas, there may be no suitable electrical supply at all, and adding one is an electrician's job. The required load is on the appliance specification.
Hob types and the pans you own
Induction is fast and controllable and works only with ferrous pans, so a magnet on the base is the test. Ceramic looks similar and takes any pan. Gas gives instant visual control and is harder to clean. Changing hob type often means replacing pans, which belongs in the budget.
Reading an energy label
The scale was reset in 2021, so a modern appliance rated C may be more efficient than an older one badged A plus plus. Compare the annual consumption figure in kilowatt hours rather than the letter, particularly between an appliance bought years ago and one on sale now.
Using a Sonic Direct discount code
Enter the code in the basket and confirm the total before paying. Installation, disconnection, recycling and delivery to a specific room are charged separately and a code will not cover them. Manufacturer cashback offers usually run alongside rather than instead, so check whether you qualify for both.
