About Tokyo Laundry

The name misleads and it is worth clearing up first: Tokyo Laundry is a British clothing brand, not a Japanese one. It was founded in the north-east of England and the styling owes far more to American casualwear than to anything from Tokyo.

The position is value casual. These are the clothes people buy several of at once rather than agonise over, and the pricing is set with a multi-item basket in mind.

What they make

T-shirts, polos and hoodies carry the range, usually with the applique and print detailing the brand uses across seasons. Around them sit chinos, shorts, jeans, knitwear, shirts and lightweight jackets.

There is a womenswear line alongside the menswear, plus loungewear, swim shorts and a steady flow of sock and underwear multipacks. Nothing here is technical or seasonal in the outdoor sense.

How to buy it well

Fit runs on the generous side of slim across the tops, and the sizing is more consistent within a category than across the range, so a medium tee and a medium jacket are not necessarily the same body measurement. The product measurements are worth a glance.

This is a brand that appears repeatedly in outlet and clearance channels, so the same T-shirt can carry three different prices depending where you look. Comparing before committing is more rewarding here than with brands that control their pricing tightly.

Using a Tokyo Laundry discount code

Fill the basket, apply the code in the promotion field and check the total before you order. These are listed as Tokyo Laundry discount codes, voucher codes and promo codes.

Value casualwear discounts by volume. Multibuy pricing on tees and multipack deals on basics run more or less permanently and rarely stack with a percentage, so compare the two totals on a basket of three or four items. Codes with a minimum spend are pitched deliberately just above the price of two garments.
