About Truthbrush

Truthbrush is a small Devon company making bamboo toothbrushes and low-waste oral care, certified as a B Corporation, and a discount code makes sense on products bought as a yearly supply rather than one at a time.

What they make

The core product is a bamboo-handled manual toothbrush, sold as a year's supply of four so the replacement schedule is decided for you. Alongside it sit bamboo-handled replacement heads compatible with the common electric toothbrush fittings, a smaller brush for children, bamboo interdental brushes, and toothpaste tablets — a solid alternative to a plastic tube, chewed and then brushed. Bristles come in different firmnesses, including a castor-oil-derived option — the part of a bamboo brush that cannot itself be bamboo.

The honest version of the environmental claim

Bamboo is a fast-growing grass and the handle composts; the bristles are the difficult part, because nylon and nylon-derived filaments do not, and on most bamboo brushes they must be pulled out with pliers before the handle goes in a compost heap. A brand that says so plainly is being straight with you. The realistic saving is the handle — a household of four getting through sixteen plastic brushes a year is the thing being displaced — rather than a claim of zero waste. B Corp certification is an independent assessment of the whole company, not a product-level environmental mark, and it is worth knowing which of the two you are reading.

Brushing well matters more than what you brush with

No brush compensates for technique. Dentists consistently recommend a soft or medium bristle rather than a hard one, two minutes twice a day, a fluoride toothpaste unless your dentist has advised otherwise, and spitting rather than rinsing so the fluoride stays on the teeth. Replace a brush every three months or sooner once the bristles splay — a splayed brush cleans badly whatever it is made of. Interdental brushes or floss do the job a toothbrush physically cannot. Gums that bleed regularly are a reason to see a dentist rather than to change brushes.

Delivery, subscriptions and using your code

Orders ship from the UK, with the small flat items posting cheaply. Check whether a product is offered on a repeating subscription and what the renewal price is, since a first-order discount often does not carry into later deliveries. Toothpaste tablets and brushes are personal-hygiene goods, so returns are usually limited to unopened items within the published window. Paste the code into the basket field before paying and read the new total.
