About Vitamin Planet

Vitamin Planet is a London-based supplement retailer selling its own range alongside recognised brands, with orders shipped from the UK.

What is on the shelves

The core is vitamins and minerals — multivitamins, vitamin D, B complex, magnesium, iron, omega oils — sold as tablets, capsules, gummies and powders. Around that sit sports nutrition lines including whey and plant protein, creatine and pre-workout, a beauty and collagen section, digestive and probiotic products, and smaller ranges for children and for pets. Named brands such as BetterYou, Optibac and Bio-D sit next to the own label, which is usually the cheaper option for the same nutrient.

What a supplement is, legally and practically

Supplements are food, not medicine. They are there to top up a diet where something is genuinely short, and they cannot treat or cure a condition — nor may they legally be sold as if they could. For most people eating a varied diet, most of the shelf is unnecessary. The exceptions are real and worth knowing: the NHS advises everyone in the UK to consider vitamin D through the autumn and winter, folic acid matters before and in early pregnancy, and vegans need a reliable source of B12.

Buying without wasting money

Check the amount per dose rather than the size of the number on the front, and check how many capsules make up that dose, because a cheap tub taken three at a time is not cheap. More is not better: fat-soluble vitamins such as A and D accumulate, iron in excess is harmful, and high-dose single nutrients are the ones to be careful with. If you take prescribed medication, ask a pharmacist before adding anything — St John's wort, high-dose vitamin K and some minerals interact with common drugs. Anyone pregnant, breastfeeding or managing a health condition should get advice rather than self-prescribing.

Using a Vitamin Planet discount code

Apply the code in the basket rather than at the payment screen, since that is where the total is recalculated.
