About W Concept
W Concept is an online retailer of independent designer fashion with roots in South Korea, carrying emerging and established labels that are hard to find through mainstream department stores.
It is a curated marketplace rather than a single brand, which means sizing, quality and delivery vary between the labels it hosts.
What they carry
Womenswear and menswear across clothing, outerwear, shoes, bags and jewellery, plus a homeware and lifestyle section, drawn largely from Korean and other Asian designers alongside international ones.
Collections are small and seasonal. Pieces sell out and are not restocked, which is characteristic of independent design rather than a stock problem.
Buying from independent designers
Use the measurement chart on every single product. Sizing across independent labels is not standardised at all, and Korean sizing in particular runs smaller and shorter in the sleeve than European or American sizing at the same nominal number.
Read the fabric composition and the care label before buying. Small designers use interesting fabrics, and interesting frequently means dry clean only or hand wash, which is part of the real cost of a piece.
Check the shipping origin and the returns terms per item. On a marketplace, different labels can ship from different countries with different lead times and different return arrangements, and duties on an international order are the buyer's to pay.
