About Barkings Heads & Meowing Heads (Dog and Cat food)

Barking Heads discount codes and voucher codes are listed above. Below: the recipes themselves, the trick to reading an ingredients panel, and where a Barking Heads discount code applies.

About Barking Heads

Barking Heads is a British natural pet food brand, sold alongside its cat range Meowing Heads. The two share a site, a subscription and, usually, an offer.
The proposition is a named meat first and no artificial colours or flavours, sold at a premium to supermarket food and below the tailored subscription services. The packaging is deliberately light-hearted, but the recipes are the point.

What they make

Dry complete food for dogs across life stages and sizes, wet food in trays and tins, grain-free recipes, and ranges aimed at particular needs such as sensitive digestion, weight and older dogs. Meowing Heads covers the same ground for cats.
Food is sold as one-off bags and on a repeating subscription, with the deepest reduction attached to the first subscription order and a smaller standing one afterwards.

Reading a pet food label

Ingredients are listed by weight, so the first two or three tell you most of it. A named meat at the front — chicken, salmon, lamb — is what the premium price buys; a bag that opens with cereals is a different product whatever the front of the pack says.
Watch the difference between a percentage of fresh meat and of dried meat. Fresh meat is mostly water and loses roughly three quarters of its weight in cooking, so a high fresh-meat figure can end up behind a lower dried-meat one in the finished food.
Compare on cost per day using the feeding guide for your dog's weight, not on the price per bag. Denser food is fed in smaller amounts, and that changes the arithmetic completely.
Change food over about a week, mixing rising proportions of the new into the old. Nothing here is veterinary advice: an animal on a prescription diet, with a diagnosed condition or a suspected allergy should not be switched without asking the vet first.

Using a Barking Heads discount code

Set the order up, apply the code before payment and check both the first charge and the price that recurs afterwards. These appear as Barking Heads discount codes, voucher codes and promo codes.
A repeat delivery plan already carries a built-in saving that a voucher will usually refuse to sit on top of, so work out the monthly figure under each arrangement before choosing. Trial packs are usually excluded, and the plan continues until it is paused or cancelled.
