About Green Motion
Green Motion is a car hire company operating from airport and city locations in the UK and internationally, positioned on lower rates and on a fleet chosen for lower emissions.
Car hire is a category where the headline rate and the amount actually paid diverge more than anywhere else in travel, and understanding why is worth more than any code.
What they offer
Hire across the usual vehicle classes from small hatchbacks to estates, vans and larger vehicles, from airport desks and city branches, on daily and weekly rates.
Bookings are made online with a deposit or in full, and the excess reduction products are offered at the desk as well as in advance.
What to check before collecting
The excess is the number that matters. A cheap rate with a large excess is a large liability held against your card, and the desk will offer to reduce it at a price that is usually well above buying standalone excess insurance separately beforehand. Decide which route you want before you arrive rather than at the counter.
Read the fuel policy and the mileage terms. Full-to-full is the fair arrangement; anything else usually costs more than the fuel is worth. Check whether an airport location is on site or served by a shuttle, since a shuttle adds time at both ends.
Photograph the car all round before leaving, including the wheels, the roof and the interior, and make sure any existing damage is written on the sheet before you sign it. Do the same on return. That five minutes is what settles a damage dispute later.
Take the driving licence, the licence check code where required, a credit card in the main driver's name, and check what additional documentation is needed abroad.
Using a Green Motion discount code
Complete the booking details, apply the code before payment and check the total against the quote. These appear as Green Motion discount codes, voucher codes and promo codes.
Car hire codes generally apply to the rental rate rather than to extras, and excess reduction, additional drivers, child seats and one-way fees are charged separately outside any percentage.
