About Hippowaste

Hippowaste runs the HIPPOBAG service: a heavy-duty woven bag delivered flat, filled at your own pace, then collected by a crane-equipped lorry. It is an alternative to hiring a skip.
The advantage over a skip is that nothing sits on the road taking up space and no permit is needed while the bag is on private ground. The bag is bought first and the collection is booked when it is full.

What they offer

Bags in several sizes from a small household bag up to the larger builder sizes, sold on their own or as a package with the collection included, plus separate collection bookings for bags already bought.
There are also specific services for heavier waste such as soil and rubble, which is priced differently because weight rather than volume is the limit.

Using a waste bag properly

Position it before filling it. The lorry lifts the bag by crane and needs clear overhead access within reach of the arm — no low branches, no cables, no carport. A full bag cannot be moved, so the wrong spot means the wrong outcome.
Watch the weight, not just the height. Rubble, soil and plasterboard are far heavier than they look and each bag has a stated limit; an overfilled bag is refused at collection and you pay again. Fill to the marked line and no higher.
Some materials cannot go in at all: asbestos, tyres, paint, chemicals, gas bottles, batteries, fridges and electricals are generally excluded and are disposed of through other routes.
