About Pong Cheese

Pong Cheese is a British online cheesemonger selling artisan cheese by post, cut and packed to order and sent chilled rather than stocked on a shelf.
Buying cheese by post is a different exercise from buying it at a counter: nothing can be tasted first, so the description, the milk and the maturity do the work a sample would.

What they sell

British and continental cheeses across the styles — hard, soft, blue, washed rind, goat and sheep milk — sold individually, in selection boxes and in hampers, plus chutneys, crackers, charcuterie and the accompaniments.
Subscriptions and gift boxes are a large part of the trade, and a dated delivery matters more here than in most food retail because the product is perishable.

Ordering and keeping cheese

Order for a delivery date rather than as early as possible. Cheese is cut and packed close to dispatch and is at its best within days of arriving; a box ordered a fortnight before a party is not better prepared, it is just older on the night.
Be at home for the delivery, or have somewhere cool for it to sit. Insulated packaging holds temperature for a day, not a weekend, and cheese left in a warm porch is the commonest way a good order is spoiled.
Keep cheese in the fridge but take it out an hour or two before eating, since cold suppresses flavour almost entirely. Wrap it in waxed paper rather than cling film, which suffocates a rind, and keep strong washed-rind cheeses in a box unless the fridge is meant to smell of them. Check the allergen and pasteurisation information if serving anyone pregnant, since unpasteurised soft cheese is advised against.

Using a Pong Cheese discount code

Choose the box and the delivery date, apply the code at the checkout and confirm the total before ordering. These appear as Pong Cheese discount codes, voucher codes and promo codes.
Chilled delivery is charged separately and is not usually covered by a percentage on the goods. Subscriptions, hampers and dated Christmas ranges are the exclusions to expect, and cut-to-order cheese cannot be returned for a change of mind.
