About Theatre Tickets Direct

Theatre Tickets Direct is a London ticket agency trading since 2005 and a full member of the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers, and a Theatre Tickets Direct discount code is applied to seats for West End shows and touring productions. That accreditation is worth understanding first, because in this industry it decides whether a complaint goes anywhere.

What the accreditation actually gives you

Members sign a code of practice and, where a customer cannot settle a complaint with the agency directly, an independent dispute resolution scheme can make a binding award against the member. That is a real escalation route rather than a badge. It is not a financial guarantee and not the same as travel-industry bonding.

Three charges, and only one belongs to the theatre

Face value is set by the producer and printed on the ticket. A booking fee is the agency's charge per ticket. A transaction fee, plus any postage or collection charge, is levied once per order however many tickets it holds. So four tickets in one booking cost less than two bookings of two, and comparing agencies on seat price alone is meaningless until the final screen.

Restricted view means something is physically in the way

A cheaper restricted-view seat has a safety rail, a pillar, an overhang cutting off the top of the set, or a side angle hiding part of the stage. It is a disclosed, priced-in defect rather than a gamble. For a musical with flying effects an overhang is a real loss; for a straight play in a small theatre, a side seat in the stalls is often excellent value.

An agency is not the box office

An authorised agency sells the producer's own allocation at face value plus fees, which is what this is. A secondary resale platform lists tickets somebody else is reselling at whatever price they choose, an entirely different thing. Either way, if a performance is cancelled or moved you claim through whoever sold you the ticket, not the theatre.

Using a Theatre Tickets Direct discount code

Enter the code before payment and compare the final total, since a no-booking-fee offer on one show can beat a headline reduction on another. Long-running musicals discount midweek and in the new year; limited runs with a star cast barely discount at all. Tickets for a dated performance are not refundable on a change of mind.
